Flash MX: Creating Guide Layers
Create a new layer by clicking the Insert New Layer button or
use an existing layer
Right click on the layer (or Control-click) and select Guide
from the drop down menu:
After you've created the guide layer, a guide icon appears
next to the layer's name:
To change the layer back to a normal layer, right-click on the
layer again and select Guide from the drop down menu to deselect
the guide option.
