Photoshop
7: A Must-Have Upgrade!
Adobe
System, Inc. officially announced Photoshop 7, the next version
of the world's premier image editing software. The breadth
and depth of the improvements makes this an upgrade that's
certainly worth your dollars. |
Backing
up Photoshop
We
are all used to backing up our files in case of the unexpected.
But what about Photoshop? The first thing we do when trouble
shooting is reset the preferences file. This fixes a multitude
of problems. |
Keyboard
Shortcuts
Everyone
who has worked with Photoshop for any length of time will
tell you... |
Still
More Fun With Layer Styles I
haven't done much with styles lately, so I thought we'd just
have a bit of fun this week getting back into the styles palette.
Let's take a look at single layer styles, stacking styles,
and applying existing styles created for type and applying
them to other shapes. |
Another
Little Secret
Last
week we talked about the Info palette and its hidden secrets.
I want to talk more about Photoshop's little secrets, this
week discussing the move tool. |
Creating
New Shapes
There's
a ton of things that the new polygon tool can do with a few
adjustments to the options. You can create starts, diamonds,
funky rounded stars or whatever. |
Elegant
Overlay The
look we're shooting for is elegant, refined, and a snap to
put together. We'll cut out some text_link and a frame for
a picture, add a little drop shadow, and we're on our way.

Replacing
a Defective Channel
Sometimes
you'll find that one color channel in an image is just not
salvageable, but the other channels are fine. It's possible
to, with luck and patience, recreate the damaged channel. |
The
Secret Life of the Info Palette
Many
people let a little secret pass them by every time they use
their Photoshop software. Maybe it just takes time to warm
up to the Info palette, but it's a great tool. |
Basic
Compositing One
of the coolest things about Photoshop is the way it allows
us to take multiple images and combine them into one composite
or collage. Rather than using the digital equivalent of scissors
and glue, Photoshop lets us blending images together in beautiful
and creative ways. |
